About Les Pierres Vives
"Pauline Amar and Clément Caillol first played together at the age of 16. Since 2013, the two musicians have been sharing their passion for chamber music and performing as a duo, first during their musical studies, then in their professional careers.
In homage to the Lycée "Les Pierres Vives" in Carrières-sur-Seine in the Yvelines region, where they first met, the duo?s name comes from Rabelais?s Tiers Livre, in which the "dead stones", those from which buildings are constructed, are contrasted with the "living stones", those who animate these buildings and give them soul, in other words, people.
The alliance of cello and harp in duet is a rare one, yet it quickly became obvious: the warmth of the cello blends perfectly with the pearlescent tones of the harp, creating a hushed, richly resonant timbre"
