The worlds of dancers from ART21 (Association Regard Trisomie 21) and choreographer Mickäel Phelippeau come together in artistic practice workshops. The result is a series of cross-portraits exploring the question of otherness.

"Since autumn 2003, the choreographer has been asking "In what way do we feel that we are interpreters of our own craft? From these questions, and a desire to share, the bi-portraits are born as pretexts for encounters with professions and destinies, often provoked, sometimes impromptu. Based on an exchange of props, Mickaël Phelippeau creates two images taken in the same frame. Yellow, the choreographer's totem color, is omnipresent in the shots. The ephemerality of the moment is captured in these shared portraits, the time of a pose and an exchange of objects, both on stage and in everyday life. The artist's approach is networked, almost a ripple effect, with each portrait carrying traces of its predecessors. And very often, dance takes precedence over photography, as bodies come to life in a double portrait that is initially frozen in the image.
