"What if we superimposed all at once, the march of Josephine Baker, the myth of the Zombie, the groove of Donna Summer and the Creole Bigidi? "asks Clémence Baubant. With Parades, she whirls Caribbean mythologies into a veritable source of excitement.

Dancer-choreographer Clémence Baubant composes three solos in the form of portraits, in which she conjures up an entire hybrid and flamboyant universe. Originally from Guadeloupe, but born in mainland France, the choreographer questions our identities. What are we made of? How do we cobble together the composite fragments that make us who we are? Clémence Baubant questions the mythological and real-life figures that populate her imagination, making them resonate in bodies, breaths and voices. At the crossroads of traditional choreographic heritage and contemporary language, Parades blazes its own trail, inventing a heroic and singular imaginary world.
