To be an ART21 dancer ?is to dance from the heart? as Sophie Poudroux puts it in the opening words of her exhibition. Her poetic portraits are exhibited alongside those of Mickaël Phelippeau, Thibaut Ras and Alice Davazoglou.

To mark the 10th anniversary of ART21 (Association Regard Trisomie 21) in October 2023, L?échangeur presented a new edition in which photographer and author Sophie Poudroux portrays 40 of the association?s dancers. Captured during workshops, these images show the body at play and chattering, as well as times of pause and silence. Photography reveals intimate moments of sharing, of the body at work, searching and poeticizing. The series of portraits tells us as much about the individuality of the artists as about what brings them together, the collective and what they have in common with dance. If dancing is "dancing from the heart", so too is the act of photography, which captures in a single moment the complexity of a person and a fragment of their intimate story.
