The Ville de Château-Thierry is presenting the work of Laurent de La Forest, who is also well known as a photographer in the heart of the Cité des fables. A professional at the service of authors, it was obvious that Ville should present the work of this photographer, who has been working for so many years with as much humility and simplicity as talent and singularity in the heart of a town with so many expansive artists. His images, taken in France and around the world, are mostly devoid of life. They present themselves as bare, silent backdrops, ready to welcome the noise of a movie scene, as he himself so aptly explains.

Extérieur jour, Intérieur jour or, in short, "Ext jour / Int jour", are the usual headings that precede the sequences in a film script.
Cinema and photography are my two passions.
I first showed my urban landscapes in 2012 at Le Liseur bookshop. The exhibition was called "Agora".
My intention was to show the city when it looks like an architect?s model.
ext jour / Int jour" is the logical continuation of "Agora".
My approach is becoming clearer. In films, I'm fascinated by the setting, and this fascination is reflected in my city photos. That's what I'm looking for: a film set in a city. When I look at my photos, I see reminiscences of films by Wim Wenders, Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, Marcel Carné, Max Ophu?ls, Jacques Tati, Andreï Tarkovski, Michelangelo Antonioni, the Taviani brothers, Luchino Visconti, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, John Ford? It's only natural that interiors should feature in the series. The photo of the Familistère de Guise gave me the idea. It's the setting for a 1950s living room that seems to be waiting for actors and camera.
