BALADE À la découverte des crapauds, grenouilles, triton

Amphibians are protected by law (the destruction, capture or displacement of individuals is prohibited) and are among the most vulnerable species on a national scale: 23% of amphibian species are threatened and 60% are in decline in mainland France* . Their protection and the preservation of their habitats require inventories and public awareness campaigns. This is why the CPIEs have joined the national "Popamphibien" initiative* (UICN France, MNHN and SHF 2015).

The "Popamphibien" study program in a nutshell:
Amphibians are very good bioindicators, as they react early to changes in their habitat, so amphibian species are monitored and catalogued by a naturalist in specific breeding areas (groups of ponds, ponds, etc.). The data collected is used to better understand the state of amphibian populations and their evolution over time (stability, regression, expansion).
