This communal parcel is populated with vegetation typical of the watercourses of the south of the Aisne, with ash trees, sycamore maples, hazelnut trees, sometimes flooded at the time of the overflows. It is especially the herbaceous cover which makes its originality; indeed at the end of winter, before the leaves of the trees come out, a plant rare in the north of France flowers the undergrowth: the false buttercup Anemone. River birds such as the wagtail appreciate this peaceful environment, even though it is close to the town of Charly. The site is now equipped with a discovery trail, with educational panels on the fauna and flora, the result of partnership work between the municipality of Charly and the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels des Hauts-de-France.
