In the extreme south of the department of Aisne, the itinerary overlooks the valley of Petit-Morin, a river which comes from Montmirail and flows into the Marne at La Ferté-sous-Jouarre. Two beautiful churches, the ruined and romantic one of L'Épine aux Bois and the one of Vendières, are the highlights of the walk.
