They say the voice is a mirror of the soul.
So there's melancholy and sunshine, assurance and gentleness in the voice of songwriter Joe Bel: born into a cosmopolitan family, she grew up traveling between the French Alps (where she was born), the Mediterranean Sea, where her sailing parents took her on board as a child for almost a year, and North America, where her family immigrated to the US East Coast from Greece and Turkey several generations ago.
