The "Grès qui va Boire" (Drinking Sandstone) watches over the road to Paris, which the kings used to travel to Rheims. The route leads to the fortress of Nesles and the elegant and romantic Château de Fère, which is said to have served as a model for the construction of the gallery bridge of the Château de Chenonceau.
