Le Château Médiéval de Château-Thierry

One of the oldest fortresses in the Middle Ages had a keep in its center, mentioned for the first time in 923 by Flodoart. In the 12th century, 11 towers were built. The underground rooms were partly created during the extraction of limestone for construction in the 11th century. In the 12th and 13th centuries, they were reinforced with arcades to serve as a lordly cellar. The foundations of a 12th century castle tower are still visible. In the castle's high courtyard, sheltered by the fortifications, immerse yourself in feudal life where artisans and servants were busy with many activities at the lord's command.
